Ronald Saxon Beebe, Sr.

SAVANNAH – Ronald Saxon Beebe, Sr., 73, died at home May 29, 2010 under the care of Hospice Savannah, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was born September 26, 1936 in Savannah, GA and lived a portion of his childhood in the Masonic Orphanage in Macon, GA. Upon returning to Savannah he lived on Tybee Island.
Ron was employed for a time by the Central of Georgia Railroad as an electrician. He worked for Otis Elevator for thirty-two years and resigned from Otis to establish Atlantic Coast Elevator, Inc. in 1984. He operated that company until 2005 when he retired.
Ron was a member of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Yokum Beebe; his son, Ronald Sherry Beebe; his daughter, Pam John Paige; grandchildren, Austin Jennifer Paige, and Corbin Maryanne Paige, of Savannah, Ian Paige of Roswell, NM, Nolan and Callie Paige of Savannah, and Ashley B. Washburn of Kennesaw, GA; great-grandchildren, Miller, Carson, Brice, Brennan, Joshua and Julia Paige of Savannah, and Emory Washburn of Kennesaw; two brothers, Bill Audrey Beebe of Lilburn, GA and Mark Beebe of Randleman, NC; an uncle, Calvin Lamar Saxon of Bulloch County; an aunt, Eunice Saxon of Savannah; numerous nieces and nephews; and his grand-dog, Ruby.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:30 pm.
The funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Austin, Corbin, Ian, and Nolan Paige, nephew, Mark Beebe, Jr., and cousin, Mike Saxon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Antique Auto Club.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or to the Alzheimer's Association of Savannah, 201 TV Circle, Savannah, GA 31406.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Ron's three angels, Shannon Walthour, Joyce "Adiva" Walker, and Julie "Siti" Brannen, Hospice Savannah Caregivers, and Senior Care at Memorial Hospital.
